Previous activities - South Baltic ArcSEBco is a follow-up project of the BSR INTERREG IIIB project "South Baltic Arc", which was completed in May 2005 and was likewise led by the Ministry for Transport, Building and Regional Development Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany).
"South Baltic Arc" established an intensive transnational cooperation within the South East Baltic Sea Region, involving partners from Germany, Poland, Russia, Latvia and Lithuania. Experiences and developed strategies as well as the well-established network of experts and regional stakeholders from "South Baltic Arc" are the basis for the work in SEBco.
The project had two main objectives,
"South Baltic Arc" combined transnational spatial planning with the implementation of regional sub-projects. The activities were centred around the transnational, coast-parallel transport corridor (road and rail) "Via Hanseatica":
