SEBco Final Conference in Schwerin on 13-14 November 2007<< back to list
The final conference of the BSR INTERREG IIIB project "SEBco" took place in the city of Schwerin, Germany. 60 participants from five different countries attended the conference during two days.
The conference was officially opened by the Minister for Transport, Building and Regional Development Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Mr. Otto Ebnet, who underlined that regions beyond metropolitan areas in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern have their own growth potentials and little success stories. The First Deputy Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship Mr. Mieczyslaw Struk from Poland and the Chairman of Zemgale Region Mr. Gints Kaminskis from Latvia also pointed out the need to support the potentials of small and medium-sized cities throughout the South Baltic Arc.
Furthermore, the experiences with city-suburban alliances in the involved countries were presented and showed the work done within the SEBco project in a very good way.
At the second day the project partners summarised the results of two years project work within SEBco in the other work packages (industrial development, secondary railway revitalisation, internationalisation of SMEs).
The subsequent study trip was dedicated to urban redevelopment, development at Schwerin's periphery and the Horticultural Exhibition in 2009 as development factor.
During the conference the final brochure was disseminated, that concluded our two years project work according to the main subjects in SEBco. You can download the brochure as PDF here.
